Maxed out on Chairish
Some fab finds found while mood-boarding and sourcing
Last week was a little rough so my apologies for the lack of newsletter but we’re back! Two weeks ago, I professed my love for eBay and shared some of my favorite pieces from my wishlist. This week I thought I'd share some gems I found on Chairish while sourcing for my cousin who was looking for a few pieces and design advice for her new apartment. She has an exuberantly maximalist and eclectic style with a penchant for bold contrasting colors and large floral and animal prints. We ended up with a low-key glam style with some elements of Hollywood regency but lots of simple modern shapes to keep the apartment for feeling too precious. Think, Dorothy Draper at Greenbriar but with the moodiness of House of Hackeny. I ended up sourcing a few cool pieces for her from Chairish but I found a ton of gems that fell outside the scope of the project. So I decided to turn them into this week's newsletter and use to chance to talk about another platform that's great for those who know how to use it.
Chairish, for those not in the know, is the self-proclaimed “ultimate destination for home furnishings and art”. Chairish is another aggregate site that hosts a massive collection of antiques, vintage items, and contemporary designs. Most of the sellers are professional resellers and dealers so are knowledgeable and can provide information about the pieces they're selling. This also means the prices can get a little steep, but it’s worth having the customer service and guarantees that come with buying on Chairish. Chairish also coordinates shipping including white glove delivery for most items. I find that it's a great place to look for designer items both second-hand and new contemporary pieces if that’s more your thing.
So, take a peak at some of the pieces I think would have worked in this project if money and space were not an object.

Not only is this painting by Barbara Weismann surreally beautiful, but the color palatte is really perfect for the apartment.
Speaking of House of Hackney, these ebonized chairs in their Hollyhocks Winter Velvet fabric are a delight.
In the bedroom, there is a very Hollywood regency ornate black bed frame and this would be the most perfect dressing bench for her teal and eggplant bedroom.
The colors in this rug are so good. The purple and rust color palatte is an under-rated one.
I’ve seen a lot of pedestal tables, but this base is giving Jetsons glam vibes.
